Lt. Col. Coleman Goggin RIP

RIP

ARCOIreland regrets to inform its members of the death of Lieutenant Colonel Coleman Goggin, on Thursday, 15 September 2016. The Dingle native followed the footsteps of his brother Paddy, who died recently, into the Cadet School in 1954 and was a member of the 29th Cadet Class. Coleman was the first officer to be appointed as Defence Forces Psychologist, an appointment he held with great distinction for over thirty years.

DFHQ Officers Mess in McKee Barracks was his home for over three decades and his strong link to the Mess continued in retirement with his active membership of McKee Officers Club. He will be sadly missed and will be remembered with great affection by his former comrades, Club Members and many friends.

It is understood that in keeping with his wishes Coleman’s body has been donated to medical science and a Remembrance Service will be held, in McKee Barracks, on a date to be advised.
