White Paper on Defence – Submission by ARCO

The Minister for Justice, Equality and Defence, Mr. Alan Shatter T.D., has published a Green Paper on Defence which may be viewed at:
The Green Paper aims to facilitate submissions to a new White Paper on Defence, due to be completed in early 2014, by setting out the policy context and the key policy questions to be considered in its preparation. The Minister has initiated a public consultative process and has invited inputs from all interested parties.
In order to ensure that ARCO members’ views may be fully reflected, the Association is engaging fully with the consultative process and will make a written submission on the White Paper. To this end it has formed a Working Group to prepare this and has already invited members to submit their recommendations to it.
